OFF ICE TRAINING AIDS -TAKING YOUR HOCKEY GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL !
Each payer has approximately the same amount of hours per week on the ice. It's what you do off the ice that will set you apart. One of my core principles in setting up this site was to let players know if I could help them save money without sacrificing quality.
STICK HANDLING MAT - (An must have )
I would recommend to practice stickhandling at least 10-15 minutes a day. See the Skinner stick handling DVD's that are available under my stickhandling tab.
4 x 8 HPDE Plastic - ( Artificial Ice like surface )
1/8" thick ( 20% thicker than the 1/10" offered on competitive products.)
Ability to roll - up and store out of the way or transport with supplied reusable velcro cinch straps.
Use standard Pledge furniture polish monthly to enhance the slick surface of the HPDE Plastic.
Price $88.00 + Shipping ( compare a $ 109.00 )
SHOOTING MAT -( For Use With A Shooting Tarp)
The above stick handling mat can be used a a dual purpose mat ( stick handling & shooting ) I personally always kept my stick handling mat in the basement and the shooting mat in my garage for use on my on the my shooting tarp. It was just much easier than moving the larger stick handling mat every time.
30" x 60 " Shooting Mat 3/16 " HDPE Plastic
( Artificial Ice like surface )

It has no carrying handle but it can easily be picked up with two hands or you can make a hand handle in 10 minutes with a jigsaw. This shooting mat has no beveled edge but I my opinion you do not need this feature. Players will use their $ 250.00 stick to drag pucks onto the mat and inevitably no matter how careful you will start to get some slight damage on the bottom of your stick from the concrete. Just place the pucks on the shooting mat by hand.
SHOOTING TARP (Check Back - Available Soon )
A Shooting Tarp is one of those must haves to add to your off-ice training regiment. It can help you develop a harder more accurate shot so you can score more goals. Being a goal scorer can make the difference if you play on the fourth line or the first or second line. If you play AA or AAA. Its just that important !! I would take a min of 100 shots per day. 25 slap shots, 25 wrist shots, 25 back handers & 25 up real close trying to hit top shelf. As you get better set up multiple pucks and practice a quick release . Also, increase distance as you progress as well. This is a premium quality shooting tarp made of 18 gauge vinyl that will allow you to use regulation pucks and last the test of time. Comes in two sizes 7' x 16' and 8' x 16 '
